Life Journey Work - PPF Model

Life Journey Work - PPF Model three day training equips delegates to deliver a ten session programme of Life Journey Work to children and adolescents who are fostered, adopted or living with relatives. The model was developed by The Behaviour Clinic from their experience of delivering Therapeutic Life Story Work and recognising there was a need for a comprehensive model of Life Journey Work that could be delivered by social workers and other professionals working with children.

The model is Continued Professional Development (CPD) Certified and delegates who complete the course will be certified to Level 1 in Life Journey Work and receive 20 CPD hours. There is also an option to progress to Level 2 and 3.

About the Course

The training takes place over three days. Two days are consecutive with one day following a few weeks later. This is to allow time to practice skills and complete preparation for the final day of training. Delegates will learn background knowledge and theory about Life Journey Work, how to assess if a child is ready to engage in the work, how to create a narrative for the child and family, relationship building within sessions and a tested model for ten sessions of life journey work that includes case examples of how to deliver each session. 

Practitioners delivering the course are therapeutically trained and regularly deliver Life Journey Work to children and adolescents.

Resources are also provided. Delegates will receive an information book that details the model, includes examples and assessment scales to assess if a child can engage in Life Journey Work. Delegates can choose from a range of Life Story Work Book templates to create a Life Story book for a child. Access to The Behaviour Clinic's Life Journey Work online community with additional support and examples is also included with this course (six month subscription).

Training Days

The training day runs from 9.30 am to 4 pm. Morning refreshments, lunch and afternoon refreshments are included.
