About the Event

Intermediate Attachment for Professionals

This course has a focus on assessment and recognition of attachment styles in children within the home, foster care and in schools. The course is aimed at social works, teachers and those supporting children with attachment difficulties.

This is the second of our attachment training courses for professionals with Introduction to Attachment focusing on theory and a base knowledge, and Advanced Attachment focusing on Intervention for attachment challenges. It is advised that professionals undertake Intermediate Attachment prior to Advanced Attachment.

At Intermediate Attachment delegates will learn key indicators of attachment style and how to recognise attachment patterns in the children they are supporting. Attachment safety seeking behaviours and the presentation of attachlent challenges at home, in foster placement and in schools are discussed.

Types of attachment assessments, their use and validity are considered to enable professionals to make informed decisions regarding the type of assessment to use. Attachment challenges at key developmental phases and identification of probable future challenges are also discussed.

Intermediate Attachment is Continued Professional Development registered and delegates will receive 7 hours CPD by attending this course.
